It is recommended that candidates have:


  • A basic understanding of cloud computing concepts.
  • Knowledge of basic networking concepts, including Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) and subnets, which are critical when designing databases in AWS.
  • Awareness of how to set up IAM (Identity Access Management) roles and manage credentials within AWS.

You don't need to have extensive experience with AWS, but hands-on practice and some understanding of AWS architecture will aid you in passing the certification exam.

2. Experience with Databases

Experience with both relational and non-relational databases is highly beneficial. You should be familiar with AWS Database Certification  various database structures such as SQL-based and NoSQL databases. Hands-on knowledge of common databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, and others will significantly improve your chances of passing the exam.

It's advisable that you have at least two years of hands-on experience with AWS services related to databases. You should also be familiar with data migration strategies, performance tuning, and database backup solutions in the AWS ecosystem.
